A letter from Mutribo, a dedicated seeker and creator of the video series

It was October 2002 and Cáli and I were leaving the valley and headed south to Mumbai to embark on a film project.

It had been two and a half years since we had both met Ramesh Balsekar for the first time in February 2000. Our initial visit to his small room in his Mumbai apartment to listen to his unique Teaching had only lasted three days. But those three mornings had left a deep impact on both of us.

Over the following two years we had managed to spend several long and extended visits in Mumbai to absorb his Teaching and to ask as many questions as were needed for it to settle itself inside.

There was a deep sense of gratitude towards Ramesh for everything that he had given. A desire arose in me to share it in whatever way I could.

My role during my years with Osho had been one of cameraman and filmmaker and the idea emerged to create a video record of Ramesh’s Teaching that could then be shared with others who were not able to travel to India and meet Ramesh in person.

I proposed to Ramesh that we film a series of seven conversations that would allow him to share the concepts of his Teaching. The structure of these interviews would highlight the specific relevance of Ramesh’s Teaching to common stages of a spiritual seeker’s journey.

Ramesh graciously agreed to my proposal and even gave the title to the series of talks. We filmed the “Let Life Flow” series of conversations at the end of October 2002 and then filmed the ten talks Ramesh gave at his Kovalam Beach seminar in Kerala the following month.

Recently two people who sit with me found themselves very impacted by watching the “Let Life Flow” series and wanted to create a YouTube channel to share the videos with a wider audience. Advaita Explained – Let Life Flow is the result of all their work.

I feel enormously grateful to them both for helping this to happen. The video material of Ramesh had been gathering some dust in my personal computer from only being shared intermittently with more personal connections over the intervening 23 years since its initial distribution. I have experienced a deep feeling of completion in now knowing they are potentially available to many more seekers interested in Truth.

A quick guide to the three elements that make up the channel may be of some use.

“The Kovalam Happening” is a two part, two hour film that I made from Ramesh’s seminar talks and interviews with the participants. It was designed as an introductory overview of the essential concepts of his Teaching.

If you find yourself drawn to go deeper into the Teaching, then the “Let Life Flow” series of conversations will provide an opportunity to do that.

Lastly there are ten audio conversations between Jacqui Lewis and myself that expand on the meditation talks I gave in the book “Signposts Back Home”. They offer the opportunity to ground and contextualise those concepts in 21st century living.

The meeting with Ramesh signalled the last stage in my own spiritual seeking. He gave me all the space to rail against his concepts by generously meeting all my questions and objections with patience, clarity and love. He gave me the opportunity to let go of my painful separateness and fall back into something infinitely present.

I wish that for you too.
With love,
Mutribo
